A method of and apparatus for use in establishing a blasting arrangement by loading at least one detonator into each of a plurality of blast holes, placing explosive material in each blast hole, connecting to a trunk line a control unit that has a power source incapable of firing the detonators, sequentially connecting the detonators, by means of respective branch lines, to the trunk line and leaving each detonator connected to the trunk line. In addition, the apparatus includes means for receiving and storing in memory means identity data from each detonator, means for generating a signal to test the integrity of the detonator/trunk line connection and the functionality of the detonator, and means for assigning a predetermined time delay to each detonator to be stored in the memory means. The invention also extends to the control unit.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant d'établir un dispositif de tir. Ce procédé consiste à charger au moins un détonateur (14) dans chacun des trous formant une pluralité de trous de mine (30), à placer une matière explosive dans chaque trou de mine, à connecter à un cordeau principal (10) une unité de commande (32) qui comporte une source d'énergie (52) qui n'est pas capable de déclencher les détonateurs, à connecter en série les détonateurs au cordeau principal à l'aide de leurs cordeaux dérivés respectifs (12), enfin à laisser chaque détonateur connecté au cordeau principal. En outre, cet appareil comporte un dispositif (46, 50) servant à recevoir et à stocker dans un dispositif de mémoire (34, 44) des données d'identité provenant de chaque détonateur. Cet appareil comporte également un dispositif (46, 50) servant à émettre un signal destiné à tester l'intégrité de la connexion entre les détonateurs et le cordeau principal ainsi que le fonctionnement du détonateur. Cet appareil comporte enfin un dispositif (46, 50) servant à assigner à chaque détonateur un délai prédéterminé destiné à être stocker dans le dispositif de mémoire. L'invention concerne également l'unité de commande (32).
