-11- Abstract of the Disclosure: A blasting initiated control system is disclosed. The system comprises an optical interface transmitter adapted for connection to a blasting cable, an optical interface receiver, a fiber optic link interconnecting the transmitter and the receiver for transmitting a light beam from the transmitter to the receiver upon energization of the blasting cable, a first timing circuit responsive to the receiver for initiating a certain function at a first predetermined time interval after energization of the blasting cable, and a second timing circuit responsive to the receiver for restoring such function after a second predetermined time interval after energization of the blasting cable.
