The present invention provides a blasting medium picking-apart device for loosening and picking apart clumps of aggregated blasting medium which into pieces. According to the picking-apart device of the present invention, a rotation of the blades and the shearing plate driven by the blade turning motor produces a shear force between the rotating blade and the shearing plate, and by the shear force, the aggregated blasting medium which fall into the upper hopper are roughly smashed. The roughly smashed clumps of the blasting medium fall through a lower opening of the upper hopper onto the rotating disc, where the blasting medium are delivered to the outer peripheral part of the disc by the centrifugal force of the disc. There, the aggregated blasting medium are finely separated by a shear force applied from the rotating shearing plate, and are pushed into a narrow gap between disc and an annular flange at the lower opening of the upper hopper, to be loosened so that aggregated blasting medium are picked apart into pieces of each blasting medium to have its original size.
