A bleaching composition comprising a peroxide and a photocatalyst which is activated by the action of a light having a wavelength of 420 nm or longer (photocatalyst responsibe to visible light; and a method of bleaching teeth which comprises applying the composition of any one of claims 1 to 4 to the surface of teeth and irradiating the coating with a light containing a component having a wavelength of 420 nm or longer.
