A chemical pulp that contains reactants able to generate a dioxirane within the pulp. The reactants comprise of carbonyl compound, preferably a ketone, and oxygen donor in proportions suitable to produce a dioxirane having a molecular diameter of less than 140 angstrom units. A process of bleaching a chemical pulp is also described. The process comprises mixing the pulp with the reactants able to generate a dioxirane within the pulp.

Pâte chimique renfermant des réactifs pouvant former un dioxirane à l'intérieur de la pâte. Les réactifs comprennent un composé carbonylé, de préférence une cétone, et un donneur d'oxygène dans des proportions permettant d'obtenir un dioxirane dont le diamètre moléculaire est inférieur à 140 angströms. On décrit également une méthode pour le blanchiment d'une pâte chimique. La méthode consiste à mélanger la pâte avec les réactifs formant le dioxirane à l'intérieur de la pâte.
