The present invention describes an aliphatic polyoxaamide polymer and blends thereof that may be used to produce surgical devices such as sutures, sutures with attached needles, molded devices, and the like. The aliphatic polyoxaamide of the present invention have a first divalent repeating unit of formula I: [X-C(O)-C(R1)(R2)-O-(R3)-O-C(R1)(R2)-C(O)-] I and a second repeating unit selected from the group of formulas consisting of: [-Y-R17-]T, I [-O-R5-C(O)-]B, and III ([-O-R9-C(O)]P-O-)LG XI and combinations thereof, wherein X and Y are selected from the group consisting of -O- and -N(R)-, provided both X and Y are not both -O- and may be blended with a second polymer that is preferably biocompatable.

La présente invention décrit un polymère de polyoxaamide aliphatique et des mélanges qui peuvent être utilisés dans la fabrication de matériels chirurgicaux comme le fil, les ensembles fil-aiguille, des dispositifs moulés et autres. Le polyoxaamide aliphatique de la présente invention possède un premier motif divalent de formule I : [X-C(O)-C(R1)(R2)-O-(R3)-O-C(R1)(R2)-C(O)-] I et un second motif choisi parmi un groupe correspondant aux formules suivantes : [-Y-R17-]T, I [-O-R5-C(O)-]B, et III ([-O-R9-C(O)]P-O-)LG XI et à des combinaisons de ces dernières, où X et Y sont choisis parmi un groupe constitué de -O- et -N(R)-, pourvu que X et Y ne sont pas tous les deux -O-; le composé peut être mélangé avec un second polymère qui est préférablement biocompatible.
