ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention is directed to a heterogeneous blend comprising a polycarbonate blended with a random acid copolymer of a monovinylidene aromatic monomer and an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, said components being present in proportions such that the blend has (a) a Gardner Dart impact strength of at least 100 in-lbs (11.3 joules), (b) a notched Izod impact strength of at least 3 ft-lbs per inch of notch (0.2 joule per millimeter of notch), (c) a heat distor- tion temperature of at least 210°F (99°C) as determined by ASTM D-648 (unannealed at 66 pounds per square inch (455 kilopascals)), and (d) a processability of less than 9000 pounds per square inch (62.05 megapascals) at a mold fill time of 3.0 seconds as determined by the test herein. Such blends are particularly useful in the manufacture of molded parts which must be exposed to high temperature during manufacture and use.
