The invention provides, in a method of perfusion magnetic resonance imaging of a region of interest in a vascularized animal subject, said method comprising administering a contrast agent bolus into the vascular system of said subject; determining the magnetic resonance signal strength si(t) for voxels (i) of said region of interest at a series of time values (t) over period from before contrast agent arrival in said region of interest to at least the end of the first pass of said contrast agent through said region of interest; from the determined values si(t) for said signal strength and an arterial input function v(t), determining values for the tissue residue function ri(t)for each said voxel; and optionally generating an image of said region of interest from the determined values of ri(t); the improvement comprising generating from si(t) a voxel specific arterial function vi(t)and using said voxel specific arterial function to determine the values of the tissue residue function ri(t).
L'invention concerne un procédé d'imagerie par résonance magnétique de perfusion d'une région étudiée chez un sujet animal vascularisé. Le procédé consiste à administrer un bolus d'agent de contraste dans le système vasculaire du sujet; à déterminer la force du signal de résonance magnétique s¿i?(t) pour des voxels (i) de la région étudiée à plusieurs valeurs temporelles (t) pendant une période comprise avant l'arrivée de l'agent de contraste dans la région étudiée jusqu'à au moins la fin du premier passage de l'agent de contraste dans la région étudiée; à déterminer, à partir des valeurs déterminées s¿i?(t) pour la force du signal et d'une fonction d'entrée artérielle v(t), des valeurs destinées à la fonction des résidus tissulaires r¿i?(t)¿?pour chaque voxel; et éventuellement à produire une image de la région étudiée à partir des valeurs déterminées de r¿i?(t); l'amélioration consistant à générer à partir de s¿i?lt) une fonction artérielle spécifique des voxels v¿i?(t)¿ ?et à utiliser cette fonction afin de déterminer les valeurs de la fonction des résidus tissulaires¿ ?r¿i? (t) .
