A blind fastening method and device for use in clamping a component (21) to a support plate (22), in which the fastener device (20) is taken through aligned openings in the component and in the support plate, and comprises: a slotted sleeve (38); an apertured sleeve head (24) at one end of the sleeve (38); a threaded fastener portion (25) which can be taken through the apertured sleeve head (24) and the sleeve (38); a tightening fastener head (26) for tightening the fastener portion (25); and a diverging sleeve-expanding head (27) mounted on the fastener portion (25) and engageable with the opposite end (28) of the sleeve to expand the latter radially outwardly to anchor the sleeve; in which the sleeve head (24) has an off-set formation engageable by a tool (30) which prevents rotation of the sleeve head (24) while the fastener head (26) is being tightened. This provides a primary deformation action, and in a preferred embodiment a secondary deformation action is provided so as to obtain a stronger clamping action, by means of an axially compressible weakened portion (36) in the wall of the sleeve (35) and located adjacent to the sleeve head (24).
Un procédé et un dispositif d'attache aveugle permettent de fixer un élément (1) sur une plaque de support (22). Le dispositif d'attache (20) traverse des ouvertures alignées, propres à l'élément et à la plaque de support, et il comprend: un manchon fendu (38), une tête (24) de manchon ajourée, disposée à une extrémité de ce manchon (38); un filetage (25) de dispositif d'attache qui peut traverser la tête (24) de manchon ajourée et le manchon (38); une tête de serrage (26) de dispositif d'attache destinée à serrer le filetage (25) de ce dispositif; et une tête conique (27) d'ouverture de manchon, montée sur le filetage (25) et pouvant entrer en prise avec l'extrémité opposée (28) du manchon pour ouvrir ce dernier vers l'extérieur, dans le sens radial, afin d'ancrer ce manchon. La tête (24) de manchon présente une partie désaxée avec laquelle un outil (30) peut entrer en prise pour empêcher la rotation de cette tête (24) pendant le serrage de la tête (26) du dispositif d'attache. Ceci produit une déformation primaire et dans une variante préférée, on obtient une déformation secondaire et donc une fixation plus solide, grâce à une partie affaiblie (36), qui peut être comprimée dans le sens axial, disposée dans la paroi (35) du manchon, à côté de la tête (24) de ce dernier.
