ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A helmet particularly adapted to highly visible from any direction day and night and to provide illumination for reading and writing at night without impairing the normal movements of the wearer. This helmet distinctively includes sections of high visual contrast, reflective color, patches and trim lines, and blinking lights spaced apart along the periphery of the helmet body to be highly visible from any direction day or night. This helmet also distinctively includes an illumination light and batteries which are recessed in the edge portion at the front of the helmet to provide the required illumination for reading and writing at night without impairing the field of view nor the normal movements of the wearer.
