The transmission of digital video data is accomplished using a block coding scheme, which embeds timing and control signals into the data stream. The code is DC balanced, achieved by selectively inverting some data blocks, as a function of the cumulative disparity; and the transitions within each block are controlled, providing either a minimum number of transitions per block, or a maximum, and this is achieved by selectively inverting certain bits within a block. The use of low-swing differential transmission minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI).

La présente invention, qui concerne l'émission d'images numérisées, utilise un dispositif de codage par blocs consistant à insérer les signaux de synchronisation et de commande dans le flux de données. L'équilibrage du courant continu résulte de l'inversion sélective de certains blocs de données en fonction de la disparité cumulative. Dans chaque bloc, la gestion des transitions se fait de façon à avoir une quantité minimale, ou maximale, de transitions dans chaque bloc, et ce par inversion sélective de certains bits à l'intérieur d'un bloc.
