A non-refillable valve (100) for a pressurized container (101) is provided and includes a valve housing (105) having a central bore (104), a port (102) in the housing (105) to facilitate connection of a nozzle to the housing (105), a t-stem (160) and a valve seat (161) that provide the primary valve seal when the valve is closed; and a blocking element (106) in the central bore (104), the blocking element (106) including a check body with raised (190) and recessed (195) portions wherein the raised portions (190) permit centering of the check body in the central bore (104) and wherein the recessed portions (195) permit fluid flow in the central bore (104) past the check body.
