The present invention relates to a blockless reamer tool having a tool body and a reamer unit fit within a pocket cut into the tool body. The reamer unit is secured within the pocket by pins inserted into holes drilled through the tool body across the pocket. The reamer unit, being formed of a shaft and a hollow cutter mounted thereon, may include holes drilled in the end of the shaft through which the pin may be fit as it is inserted into the holes across the tool body. This configuration secures the reamer unit within the tool body in a manner that requires only the tool to be machined and facilitates easy insertion and removal of reamer units from a tool body.
