The invention provides a hydrogel, having a floating behaviour, wherein 40 to 90% of a solution and/or suspension to be thickened is thickened from the fluid surface and the rest of said solution and/or suspension to be thickened is thickened from the container bottom. Said invention also relates to a method for producing the hydrogel and the use thereof for absorbing blood and/or body fluids, in particular, in hygienic articles, or for thickening aqueous solutions and/or suspensions, in particular, for thickening medical waste.

L'invention concerne un hydrogel présentant un comportement flottant, selon lequel 40 à 90 % d'une solution et/ou suspension à épaissir est épaissie à partir de la surface du liquide et le reste de cette solution et/ou suspension à épaissir est épaissi à partir du fond du récipient. Ladite invention concerne également un procédé pour produire cet hydrogel et son utilisation pour absorber le sang et/ou des liquides organiques, en particulier dans des articles hygiéniques, ou pour épaissir des solutions et/ou suspensions aqueuses, en particulier pour épaissir des déchets médicaux.
