Systems and methods for processing blood use at least one fluid activated pump (PPN) and at least one fluid activated valve (VN). The systems and methods apply positive and negative fluid pressures to operate the pump and valve. Different pressure conditions are applied to the pump and the valve (VA1- VA25), to insure that a valve used in conjunction with a pump is not overcome by the pressure applied to operate the pump, and that both the valve and pump are not overcome by normal system (10) processing pressures.

Ces systèmes et ces procédés appliquent des pressions hydrauliques positives et négatives en vue d'actionner la pompe et la soupape. On applique des conditions de pression différentes à la pompe et à la soupape (VA1-VA25) afin d'assurer qu'une soupape utilisée conjointement à une pompe n'est pas dépassée par la pression appliquée pour actionner la pompe, et qu'aussi bien la soupape que la pompe ne sont pas dépassées par les pressions de traitement normales du système (10).
