The blood pump (BP) has an elongate tubular pump housing (10) wherein a motor (16) is arranged that drives a pump impeller wheel (22), tree pump housing having an inlet (12) at one end and an outlet (18) at the opposite end. The motor (16) comprises a motor housing (15) sealed off against the blood flow. The pump impeller wheel (22) is located at the end of the motor housing (15) facing the inlet (12) and, together with a transition portion (13) of the pump housing (10), forms a rotary pump flown through diagonally, which creates an axial flow flowing around the motor housing (15). Here, the blood flow exclusively flows between stationary parts, thereby reducing the risk of blood decay caused by shear stresses.

L'invention concerne une pompe à sang (BP) comportant un carter (10) tubulaire allongé dans lequel est placé un moteur (16) qui entraîne une roue de pompe (22), ledit carter présentant une entrée (12) à une extrémité et une sortie (18) à l'extrémité opposée. Le moteur (16) est muni d'un carter (15) étanchéifié vis-à-vis de la circulation sanguine. La roue de pompe (22) se trouve sur l'extrémité du carter (15) du moteur qui fait face à l'entrée (12) et constitue, conjointement avec une partie de transition (13) du carter (10) de la pompe, une pompe rotative à circulation diagonale, qui produit un courant axial passant autour du carter (15) du moteur. La circulation sanguine passe exclusivement entre les parties fixes, ce qui réduit le risque d'hémolyse par sollicitations dues au cisaillement.
