ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and device for tasting for the presence of substances such as drugs in the blood while simultaneously positively identifying the test subject. The device comprises an absorbent pad and a nitrocellulose membrane mounted to the absorbent pad containing a plurality of separated areas provided with different absorbed antibody having a specific receptor site for specific antigens produced by different predetermined drugs and a base area without antibodies. The method of testing comprises the steps of: (a) puncturing the finger of a test subject to obtain a quantity of blood on the finger, (b) covering the finger with a thin film of blood, (c) placing the finger on a membrane containing antibodies specifically selected to bind antigens produced by the substances being tested for in the blood so that blood is deposited from the finger on the membrane; and (d) adding color development solution to the membrane to bring out a color indicating presence or absence of a substance.
