Benzotriazole UV absorbers substituted with an ultra long ester or amide moiety wherein the ester or amide group is a hydrocarbyl group of 25 to 100 carbon atoms or is a group of alkyl of 25 to 100 carbon atoms interrupted by 5 to 39 oxygen atoms and terminated with an omega-OH or an omega-OR group exhibit excellent stabilization efficacy while they concomitantly do not bloom when incorporated into polyolefin films. These benzotriazole UV absorbers also provide excellent protection to white, dyed, dipped, unscented and/or scented candle wax from discoloration and degradation.
L'invention concerne des absorbeurs UV benzotriazole substitués avec un groupe fonctionnel ester ou amide ultra long, le groupe ester ou amide étant un groupe hydrocarbyle comportant 25 à 100 atomes de carbone ou un groupe alkyle comportant 25 à 100 atomes de carbone, interrompu par 5 à 39 atomes d'oxygène et terminé par un groupe omega-OH ou un groupe omega-OR. Les absorbeurs UV selon l'invention présentent d'excellentes propriétés de stabilisation et ne provoquent pas de voilage lorsqu'ils sont intégrés dans des pellicules polyoléfiniques. Ces absorbeurs UV benzotriazole permettent également de protéger efficacement des cires à bougie blanches, colorées, immergées, parfumées et/ou inodores contre la décoloration et la dégradation des couleurs.
