A blow-molded wheel including an axle retainer assembly and/or a stretch fit tread piece. The retainer assembly includes a housing having transverse sleeves that support an axle and a spring biased retainer pin that mounts to an annular groove at the axle. The housing is supported in a cavity formed into a wheel spoke and a bore of a wheel hub while the wheel is warm and is retained upon the shrinkage of the plastic around the housing. An aperture of the pin sleeve facilitates retraction of the pin and release of the wheel from the axle. A channel-shaped tread piece is stretch fit to the tread and side walls of the warm wheel and is retained upon curing of the wheel.
L'invention concerne une roue moulée par soufflage avec dispositif de retenue de l'essieu et bande de roulement moulée séparément. Le dispositif de retenue est constitué d'un ensemble composé de manchons transversaux retenant en place un essieu ainsi que d'une tige de verrouillage à ressort s'insérant dans une rainure annulaire pratiquée dans l'essieu. Le dispositif de retenue est maintenu en place à l'intérieur d'une cavité pratiquée dans un des rayons de la roue et le moyeu pendant que la roue est encore chaude et, comme le plastique rétrécit en refroidissant, l'ensemble devient à toutes fins pratiques indissociable de la roue. Une ouverture pratiquée dans le manchon recevant la tige de verrouillage facilite le retrait de la tige et, donc, la séparation de la roue et de l'essieu. Une bande de roulement moulée séparément est étirée et mise en place sur le périmètre de la roue encore chaude et est fixée en place par la prise du plastique.
