An injection blow molding apparatus has a rotatable turret (12) with three laterally facing faces (16, 18, 20). The turret is rotatable between an injection position (44), a blow position (46) and an ejection position (48) that are angularly spaced from each other around an axis of rotation of the turret. A mold core (22,24,26) holder is mounted on each face of the turret. Each core holder has a track (50), and a wing (52,54) pivotally mounted on each end of the track for movement between folded positions overlying the track at the injection position and unfolded positions extending from the ends of the track at the blow and ejection positions. Mold cores (42) are mounted on each track at a reduced spacing. The spacing can be increased by moving the wings to the extended positions and spreading out the mold cores on the track and the two wings. A method of forming plastic articles by blow molding is also claimed.
L'invention porte sur un appareil de moulage par soufflage doté d'une tourelle pivotante (12) pourvue de trois faces qui se font face latéralement (16, 18, 20). Cette tourelle peut pivoter entre une position d'injection (44), une position de soufflage (46) et une position d'éjection (48) qui sont espacées les unes des autres selon un certain angle et sont disposées autour d'un axe de rotation de la tourelle. Un support de noyau de moule (22, 24, 26) est monté sur chaque face de la tourelle. Chaque support de noyau comprend une piste (50), et des ailes (52, 54) disposées par rotation sur chaque extrémité de la piste afin d'effectuer un mouvement entre des positions pliées recouvrant la piste au niveau de la position d'injection et des positions dépliées qui s'étendent depuis les extrémités de la piste au niveau des positions de soufflage et d'éjection. Des noyaux de moule (42) sont montés sur chaque piste selon un espace réduit. Cet espace peut augmenter sous l'effet du mouvement des ailes en positions étendue et de l'étalement des noyaux de moule sur la piste et les deux ailes. L'invention porte aussi sur un procédé de formation d'articles en plastique par moulage par soufflage.
