The container has a base with a raised central portion and a mar- ginal portion surrounding the raised central portion. The marginal portion includes at least three spaced supporting sections adapted to support the container on a surface in use. Intervening areas of the marginal portion between the support- ing sections are depressed inwardly of the container with respect to said sections, which makes for improved flow of the plastic material during moulding and results in a stronger container.
