Abstract of the Disclosure A burner adapted to operate within a combustion chamber associated with a heater for burning liquid hydro- carbon fuel to produce a stable blue flame. A diffuser has an upstream end, a downstream end and a constricted region between those ends. The fuel nozzle forms a fuel spray in the direction of the downstream end while com- bustion air under pressure is provided upstream of the upstream end of the diffuser and is directed toward the same. The diffuser is directed toward the combustion chamber and a recirculation path conducts a portion of the products of combustion back to the upstream end of the diffuser for entrainment with air moving to the diffuser.
