ABSTRACT A boat and a method of assembly therefor has a clamp with three slots in it. Two of the slots are mirror images of one another and are symmetrical about a longitudinal centre line of said boat and are located on either side of a vertical plane through said centre line when the boat is in an upright position. A bottom slot extends between a lower end of the other two slots. The bottom slot is designed to receive one end of a bottom of a boat during construction. The other two slots are designed to receive one end of a side of the boat during construction. The clamp eliminates the requirement for the construction of a frame or jig before constructing the boat. In some boats, two clamps are utilized. Boats of various designs can be constructed.
