A high performance boat hull structure is provided which combines a V-hull bottom portion (12) with mid hull sponsons (31 and 33) which form longitudinal tunnels with ad-jacent structures. The midhull sponsons (31 and 33) have horizontally disposed running surfaces to provide lift at high speeds. Outer sponsons (14 and 16) incorporate running sur-faces (24 and 26) and together with mid hull sponsons (31 and 33) form a second air tun-nel and engage and deflect side directed spray and wake downwardly providing additional lift and decreasing or eliminating spray and signature wake. Entrance of injected or in-ducted air into the air tunnel area decreases frictional engagement of the hull with water to improve efficiency and ride.

L'invention concerne une configuration de coque de bateau à haute performance qui combine une partie inférieure en V (12) et des nageoires stabilisatrices à mi-coque (31, 33), lesquelles forment des tunnels longitudinaux avec des structures adjacentes. Les stabilisateurs susmentionnés (31, 33) ont des surfaces de glissement disposées horizontalement pour assurer la portance à vitesse élevée. Des stabilisateurs extérieurs (14, 16) intègrent des surfaces de glissement (24, 26) et forment avec les stabilisateurs à mi-coque (31, 33) un second tunnel pour l'écoulement de l'air, emprisonnant et déviant vers le bas les composantes à orientation latérale de l'écume et du sillage, ce qui offre une portance supplémentaire et diminue ou élimine l'écume et le sillage que produit le bateau. L'entrée d'air par injection ou induction dans le tunnel d'écoulement de l'air diminue le frottement de la coque sur l'eau, améliorant ainsi l'efficacité et la navigabilité.
