ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A trailer for transporting a boat over land has sleeves secured to the boat to expose open ends of the sleeves to the boat exterior. A shaft forming part of a wheel assembly is mounted in each of two sleeves which are transversely aligned with respect to the boat and these assemblies allow the boat to be towed along roads and the like. The shafts are locked within their sleeves when the trailer wheels are in contact with the ground but the shafts can be rotated to raise the wheels or can be withdrawn from the sleeves to allow the wheel assemblies to be stored aboard the boat or elsewhere. The wheel assemblies are braced against collapse when the wheels are in contact with the ground.
