Abstract A boiler has a gas duct having walls which are shielded by tubes. At least one of the walls is made of at least two tube panels a parting line between which extends in parallel with longitudinal axes of manifolds of these panels. At least one of the tube panels is formed by U-shaped tubes and in the space between the tubes of the panel there is disposed a bundle of "straight" tubes. The inlet portions of the straight tubes communicate with the inlet manifold which is installed coaxially with an out- let manifold of the U-shaped tubes and which communicates therewith for fluid being heated. The outlet portions of the straight tubes communicate with the outlet manifold of the bundle which is located outside the plane of the panel and outside the gas duct. The invention may be most effectively used in power- ful power boilers and in waste heat boilers of large size.
