ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a boiler of the type having a convection enclosure with convection surfaces, the convection enclosure is partially enclosed by walls which form a downwardly closed, water-tight container and extend at least to the upper portion of the convec- tion enclosure. A water flushing arrangement permits the con- tainer to be filled with water for dissolving soot and other deposits on the convection surfaces and a water outlet is provided for removing the contaminated water from the container.
