ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: An improved bolt lock with a selectively variable actuating axis depth, wherein the driving tail has formed on it two pairs of projections facing one another in each pair, each pair being situated a different distance from the front of the lock, while the guide casing, which secures the tail by its side edges, has cut out on each face a large trans- verse window which surrounds the two pairs of projections. The casing has three transverse real apertures whose centers are in line with its center line. The arrangement is com- pleted by two selectable plane backing members which have apertures which are bushed or extended transversely by bushes, their axes being situated to coincide with the apertures in the casing. The members also have a cutout in the form of a circular sector situated selectively to coin- cide longitudinally with the operative area of one of the two pairs of projections on the driving tail. The whole arrangement is such that when one or the other of the two selectable backing members is selected and positioned with its bushes introduced into the apertures in the casing, the actuating axis depth or distance existing between the front of the lock and the axis of the transverse actuating mem- ber normally used will be selectively varied.
