31 ABSTRACT Composites are made from cellulose fibers dispersed in a matrix of polyethylene and an isocyanate and bonded thereto during subsequent extrusion and or molding. The isocyanate improves adhesion between the cellulose fibers and the polyethylene. The improved adhesion results in improved tensile properties in the composite.
