BONDED PLASTIC-RUBBER EXTRUDED COMPOSITE Abstract A moldable elastomeric material for cold bonding to an EPDM member comprises a mixture of between 70% and 90% of thermoplastic olefin, and between about 10% and 30% of polyethylene. A method for forming a weatherstrip includes the steps of extruding an EPDM rubber weatherstrip element; forming an activating bonding surface on said extruded weatherstrip element; bonding a thermoplastic element comprising between 70% and 90% of thermoplastic olefin and between about 10% and 30% of polyethylene to said activated surface at a temperature below the softening point of the EPDM member.
