A solid ceramic composition comprising .beta.-TCP, hydroxy apatite and a substantial amount of .alpha.-TCP as shown in the x-ray diffraction spectrum, which is useful as a bone graft substitute. A process for preparing the composition by subjecting a mixture of ionic calcium, phosphate, aspartic acid and carbonate to microwave irradiation and quenching the irradiated mixture.

L'invention porte sur une composition solide à base de céramique, comportant du phosphate tricalcique-.beta., de l'hydroxyl-apatite et une quantité notable de phosphate tricalcique-.alpha., comme en témoigne le spectre de diffraction aux rayons X de la figure 1, qui s'avère utile en tant que produit de substitution pour greffon osseux. L'invention porte également sur un procédé de préparation de cette composition consistant à soumettre un mélange de calcium ionique, de phosphate, d'acide aspartique et de carbonate à une irradiation par micro-ondes puis à refroidir rapidement le mélange irradié.
