A biopsy needle (10), suitable for obtaining bone marrow biopsy cores, includes an outer tube member (20) having a lumen extending therethrough, and at a distal end (18) of the outer tube member (20) an opening is provided for receiving a biopsy core. At the distal end, the outer tube member (20) is generally oval in cross-section and thereby has an elongated dimension and a narrow dimension. An inner tube member (30) is slidable and rotatable in the lumen of the outer tube member(2) and has a set of pincers (32) at its distal end. With the inner tube member (30) slid through the lumen of the outer tube member (20) and the pincers (32) positioned at the distal end of the outer tube member (26) and aligned with the elongated dimension, the pincers are in an open position. However, the pincers (32) can be closed thereby to grasp and cut a biopsy core by rotating the inner tube member (30) so that the pincers (32) are aligned with the narrow dimension of the outer tube member. In another embodiment of the biopsy needle, the distal end of the outer tube member (20) has two spaced apart projections extending in the lumen, and by cooperation with these projections, the pincers (32) of the inner tube member (30) can be opened or closed to grasp a biopsy core.
La présente invention concerne une aiguille (10) pour biopsie, adaptée pour obtenir des prélèvements de biopsie de moelle osseuse. Cette aiguille comprend un tube extérieur (20) présentant une lumière qui le traverse, et au niveau d'une extrémité distale (18) de ce tube extérieur (20) une ouverture permet de recevoir un prélèvement de biopsie. Au niveau de cette extrémité distale, le tube extérieur (20) présente une coupe généralement ovale et de ce fait, il présente une dimension effilée et une dimension étroite. Un tube intérieur (30) peut coulisser et tourner dans la lumière de ce tube extérieur (20) et possède un ensemble de tenailles (32) au niveau de son extrémité distale. Lorsque le tube intérieur (30) coulisse à travers la lumière du tube extérieur (20), les tenailles (32) positionnées au niveau de l'extrémité distale du tube extérieur ((26) et alignées avec la dimension effilée sont en position ouvertes. Cependant, ces tenailles peuvent être fermées de façon à attraper et couper un prélèvement de biopsie par une rotation du tube intérieur (30), de sorte que les tenailles soient alignées avec la dimension étroite du tube extérieur. Dans un autre mode de réalisation de l'invention, l'extrémité distale du tube extérieur (20) possède deux projections espacées situées dans la lumière, et par une coopération de ces deux projections, les tenailles (32) du tube intérieur (30) peuvent être ouvertes ou fermées pour attraper un prélèvement de biopsie.
