Disclosed is a system for palliatively treating a pain-causing tumor on or in bone. The system includes an instrument having a distal-end structure adapted to be inserted into the bone tumor, where the structure is activatable to ablate tumor tissue, and a conduit in the instrument through which a liquid can be supplied to the tumor, when the ablating structure is inserted into the tumor. Also included are a first connecting structure for connecting the distal-end structure to an activating device, such as an RF current source, and a second connecting structure for connecting the conduit to a source of the liquid.

L'invention porte sur un système de traitement palliatif d'une tumeur douloureuse présente sur ou dans un os, comportant un instrument présentant à son extrémité distale une structure pouvant s'insérer dans la tumeur de l'os et être actionnée pour exciser les tissus tumoraux, et un conduit intérieur à l'instrument permettant de transférer un liquide à la tumeur lors de l'insertion de l'instrument dans la tumeur. Le système comporte également une première structure de liaison reliant la structure de l'extrémité distale à un dispositif activateur tel qu'une source de courant RF, et une deuxième structure de liaison reliant ledit conduit à une source de liquide.
