ABSTRACT Various styles of discrete book holding stands, paper holding stands and combination devices thereof with assorted visual aids have been manufactured over the years. My combination "book and paper holding stand with colour tinted optical filter" is intended primarily for typists and others who operate keyboard devices and provides several functional improvements to previous designs. Most functionally unique is the colour tinted optical filter with size able to cover a normal sheet of paper or both pages of an open book. Recent optical studies have shown individuals with some forms of dyslexia (a reading and learning disability) are in many cases cured by the use of colour tinted eyeglasses. While the manufacture of colour tinted translucent plastic sheet materials has occurred for some time they have to this inventor's knowledge never bean applied in the size described above as a colour tinted optical filter. The effective use of this device is positive upon ease of reading for most people and for some dyslexic people can be a quite dramatic positive effect. Second, the unique rotating plastic dowel and clamp apparatus provide a continually adjustable thickness holding device which can firmly grip single sheets of paper or open books of varying thickness while easily swinging out of the way for page turning of said books. Third the book and paper holding stand will provide for affordable cost by being in nature a purposefully simple design. Patent is applied for in two ways. First the preferred embodiment of the "book and paper holding stand with colour tinted optical filter" is believed unique in functionality. Second, the "colour tinted optical filter" alone is unique in functionality as defined by it's size and it's perceived application wherein it is a device independent of eyeglasses) with application including and beyond general reading enhancement in that it can be a very useful device in foremost identifying and secondly treating applicable forms of dyslexia.
