ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A book holder, particularly suitable for use with telephone books, is described. The book holder consists of a spine with a number of channels into which covers can be slid, and wires extending between the ends of the spine for retaining the book in place. Top and bottom caps are securable to the spine to keep the covers and the retaining wires in place. The caps are connected by tamper-proof screws. The wire retainers have serrated portions which keep the book in place whilst the cap is fastened. The wires are stressed to bow towards the spine to increase the hold on the book and inhibit lateral movement relative to the spine. The channels permit easy replacement of covers and accommodation of various thicknesses of telephone books. The book holder also has swivel suspension points to permit torsional movement of the holder when it is supported. The book holder can be suspended in a variety of positions depending on the requirements it has to fulfill.
