Abstract of the Disclosure The puller is made of Mylar? and is rectangular in planform with radiused corners. The end portions are coated with pressure sensitive adhesive protected, before use, by a cover layer. The cover layer material removed from the center portion is replaced by a plastic layer. The planform is also such that the junctures of the end portions and center portion are readily discernible by sight and touch. In use the end portions are pressed onto the covers of a book with the junctures of the end portions and center portion align with the junctures of the book covers and the book back. The center portion is long enough to allow at least two fingers to be inserted between the center portion and the back. The method of making comprises the steps of providing a roll of plastic coated on one side with pressure sensitive adhesive with a cover layer, slitting the raw material into strips having width corresponding to lengths of pullers, stripping the cover layer from the center portions of the strips, replacing it with a strip of plastic and die cutting the pullers from the strip, length of pullers transverse of the strip.
