A boom support arm that includes: a frame having a coupling positioned above a high water level; a support arm having a first end and a second end, the first end being pivottaly coupled to the coupling on the frame for pivotal movement of the second end of the support arm between the high water level and a low water level; and a flotation assembly connected to the second end of the support arm. Use of the boom support arm in combination with a floating boom system for inhibiting damage to a fixed terminus of the floating boom system is also disclosed.

L'invention concerne un bras de support de barrage qui comprend : une structure présentant un raccord positionné au-dessus d'un niveau d'eau élevé ; un bras de support présentant une première et une deuxième extrémité, la première extrémité étant raccordée pivotante au raccord sur la structure afin que la deuxième extrémité du bras de support pivote entre le niveau d'eau élevé et un niveau d'eau faible ; et un ensemble de flottation relié à la deuxième extrémité du bras de support. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation dudit bras de support de barrage conjointement avec un système de barrage flottant pour empêcher la dégradation d'une extrémité fixe du système de barrage flottant.
