A boosted voltage line driver comprising a first inverter having an input for receiving an input signal V in and an output, and a second inverter having an input connected to the output of the first inverter and an output for providing an output signal V out wherein V out > V in. The inverters are powered by voltage sources V1 and V2 respectively, where V2 is greater than V1 or V1 is substantially equal to V2. The first inverter comprises a first p- transistor connected in series with a first n-transistor and the second inverter comprises a second p- transistor connected in series with a second n-transistor. The first p-transistor and the first n- transistor may be 2 to 7 times smaller than the second p-transistor and the second n-transistor respectively. The first p- transistor may be smaller than the first n-transistor, or alternately first n- transistor may be smaller than the first p-transistor.
