ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An article of footwear made of injection-molded plastic material and having a reinforcement member, in the form of internal rigid arch and heel portions, incorporated into the injected plastic material, is manufactured by a process comprising an initial phase in which a complete upper of the footwear including an insole are formed in a mold by a first injection molding, and a second phase in which the reinforcement member is disposed in the mold, with its arch portion engaging the formed insole, and a sole and heel. covering of the footwear are formed in the mold by a second injection molding such that the plastic material injec- ted in the course of the second injection molding cooperates with the plastic material of the upper through passages formed in the arch portion and in sides of the heel portion of the reinforcement member, to thereby unite the upper and the sole and heel covering with the reinforcement member therebetween.
