A joining peer is bootstrapped into in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network in the presence of network address translators (NAT). A bootstrap peer is contact by the joining peer to establish a connection between the joining peer and an admitting peer in the peer-to-peer network. The joining peer receives an indication from the bootstrap peer that the connection between the joining peer and the admitting peer has been established with a message path through the bootstrap peer. The indication includes contact information for the admitting peer. The connection is them modified to remove all proxies therefrom.
Selon la présente invention, un poste de jonction est amorcé et inséré dans un réseau poste à poste (P2P) en présence de traducteurs d'adresses réseau (NAT). Un poste amorce est contacté par le poste de jonction de façon à établir une connexion entre le poste de jonction et un poste d'admission dans le réseau poste à poste. Le poste de jonction reçoit du poste d'amorce une indication que la connexion entre le poste de jonction et le poste d'admission a été établi avec un chemin de message passant le poste d'amorce. L'indication inclut de l'information de contact pour le poste d'admission. La connexion est alors modifiée pour en éliminer tous les mandataires.
