ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE New bis-thioaralkyl/alkyl alkyl boranes of the formula: R4R3HB : R1SASR2 : BHR3R4 wherein A stands for a straight, branched or cyclic hydrocarbon chain containing from 1 to 9 carbon atoms; R1 and R2 stand each for a straight or branched alkyl rest containing up to 5 carbon atoms in the longest chain, or benzyl radicals optionally substituted by one or more lower alkyl containing up to 5 carbon atoms or a halogen, and R3 and R4 stand for a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl up to C6 or a mono or bicycloalkyl group, are useful for use in hydroboration and reduction processes.
