Disclosed is the use of ether carboxylic acids of general formula RO(CH2CH2O)x(CH2CHR1O)yCH2-COOX, wherein R represents a saturated or unsaturated, branched or unbranched alkyl radical or alkenyl radical comprising 6 to 22 C atoms, x represents a number between 1 and 20, and y represents 0 or a number between 1 and 20, provided that the sum of x and y is at least 1 and no more than 25, while R1 represents an alkyl radical comprising 1 to 4 C atoms and X represents a monovalent or polyvalent anion, in drilling fluids. The inventive ether carboxylic acids of said formula are preferably suitable as emulsifiers for invert drilling fluid systems.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation, pour des agents de nettoyage de forages, d'acides carboxyliques d'éther de formule (I): RO(CH¿2?CH¿2?O)¿x?(CH¿2?CHR?1¿O)¿y?CH¿2?-COOX, dans laquelle R désigne un reste alkyle ou alcényle ramifié ou non, saturé ou non, comportant 6 à 22 atomes C, x est un nombre de 1 à 20 et y est zéro ou un nombre de 1 à 20, sachant que la somme de x et de y est au minimum 1 et au maximum 25, que R?1¿ signifie un reste alkyle ayant 1 à 4 atomes C et que X désigne un atome d'hydrogène ou un anion monovalent ou polyvalent. Ces acides carboxyliques d'éther de formule (I) sont particulièrement adaptés comme émulsifiants pour des systèmes invertis de nettoyage de forages.
