The invention relates to flux containing no boric acid made from inorganic boron compounds for brazing metallic materials in connection with silver-, copper- or nickel-based solders and which leads to a good wetting of the workpieces for connection, characterised by residues of low corrosivity. According to the invention, the boron compounds include potassium pentaborate and potassium metaborate and the weight proportion of potassium pentaborate and potassium metaborate lies in the range between 4 and 10.The flux preferably contains no fluoro compounds no chloro compounds and no borax.

On connaît déjà des fondants exempts d'acide borique, à base de composés inorganiques du bore, utilisés pour le brasage dur de matériaux métalliques, en liaison avec des brasures à base d'argent, de cuivre ou de nickel. L'invention a pour but d'obtenir un flux amélioré pour brasage dur, qui soit exempt d'acide borique, tout en contribuant à un bon mouillage des pièces à assembler, et présentant des résidus faiblement corrosifs. A cet effet, l'invention est caractérisée en ce que les composés du bore comprennent le pentaborate de potassium et le métaborate de potassium, et en ce que le rapport des parties en poids du pentaborate de potassium et du métaborate de potassium est compris entre 4 et 10.
