BORON NITRIDE-BASE SUPERHARD MATERIALS AND PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SAME ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The proposed superhard material is a solid solution of an element from the 3rd Group of the Periodic Table, which serves as an alloying agent, in boron nitride of a close-packed modification. The material of the invention is produced by exposing to a high temperature and pressure a feedstock mixture which comprises a source of boron and a source of nitrogen in a stoichiometric ratio, as well as an additive constituted by an element from the 3rd Group of the Periodic Table or borides thereof.
