ABSTRACT BORONATION PROCESS Boronation of hydrocarbyl-substituted succinimide lubricating oil dispersants is conducted by adding a lower alcohol (e.g. methanol) solution of boric acid to the dispersant and distilling out the alcohol. The product is haze-free and is compatible with fluoro- elastomers such as are used in heavy duty clutch plate facings.
