ABSTRACT A bottle cap and can tab opener which is a tool for opening the rather standard press-on-twist-off caps which are prevalent on bottled drinks such as soda pop and beer, as well as a tool for opening the twist-off caps on the popular two-liter soft drink bottles, and said tool having a handle which serves as a tab-lifter for opening the tab, pop-top, type cans of beverages such as soft drinks and beer. The invention has two sockets which are back to back, each with splines, one socket sized for the press-on-twist-off type bottle caps, and the other socket sized to fit the caps used on two-liter bottles. The sockets have a common punch out type hole through the backs of each socket to aid in removing a stuck bottle cap. The handle has a slot therein in the end of the handle which is sized to permit a tab from a beverage can pop-top enclosure to be slid into the slot, and the handle listed, thereby lifting the tab and breaking the seal on the pop-top type enclosure. The device is readily made of any rigid type material such as metal, or a high quality engineering plastic such as polycarbonate, acrylic nitrite, butyl, styrene or nylon plastic.
