A bottle cap opener comprising a deformable annular ring with an exterior side wall on which a force is applied and an interior side wall which defines an opening in the center of the ring. The internal diameter of the ring is substantially equal to the diameter of the bottle cap on a bottle and the internal side wall deforms to form a mating surface to the ribbed outer surface of the bottle cap. Application of force on the exterior side wall results is a larger torque applied on the bottle cap than a torque applied to the bottle directly by the user.
