A bottle carrier member for suspending a bottle over ground with an elongated cross-shoulder strap, the bottle of the type having an upper neck with an integral rim at the top edge of the upper neck. The carrier member consists of a planar elastomeric template, the template having a main central bore and two opposite one and another auxiliary bores, the main bore being sized to frictionally fit around the bottle upper neck, the one and another auxiliary bores being sized to receive and be engaged by the two end portions of the strap member, an annular template section being defined around the main bore and two opposite lips being formed on opposite sides of the auxiliary bores. The annular template section is adapted to abut against the bottle rim upon an upward strap load being applied to the template while the template lips yieldingly deforming arcuately under the load. A well balanced bottle system is achieved during transportation thereof.
