ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Screw cap of synthetic plastics material for bottles having an externally threaded neck. The threading provided on the cap and neck comprise at least two thread turns which rise at an angle of less than 30°, and the cap is provided at least partially on its periphery with a protruding portion whereby the cap can be removed either by unscrewing or vertically using a crown cork opener.
