Abstract A bottom outlet for metallurgical vessels used for molten steel, said outlet consisting of an aperture-brick and an inserted nozzle-brick having a passage therethrough of variable cross-section with a layer of heat-insulation covering at least an outlet area of the bottom outlet, a highly wear-resistant sleeve being inserted into said passage through said nozzle-brick, wherein an inside diameter of the sleeve is larger than a diameter of said passage at a point adjacent and above the sleeve, an upper inner edge of said sleeve being rounded.
